Figurative Philanthropy for Arts & Culture (FPAC) is an initiative focused on researching and developing ways to attract new philanthropy into the arts & culture sector.

Established in 2019 as New Philanthropy for Arts & Culture, a cause-related network under the chairmanship of Sir Vernon Ellis, FPAC's work includes supporting arts leaders to grow their confidence and skills in seeking philanthropic support. We have established partnerships in 15 locations across England, and in March 2024 partnered with the Big Give on a new match funding campaign for the arts & culture sector which raised £2.85 million for 238 arts & culture organisations. In August 2024 FPAC became part of Figurative.

The Case for the Arts

Why should philanthropists support cultural causes? What makes the arts deserving of their donations?

The answer is practical and straightforward – the arts, culture and creativity change lives. They promote well-being, ease loneliness, enable individuals and communities to tell their stories, among many other benefits.
